The conference will take place at the conference centre of Grand Hotel Mediterraneo (Lungarno del Tempio, 44)

For participants who do not live in Florence, rooms have been booked at the same hotel at very favorable conditions as long as the reservation is made through this website. 

How to reach Grand Hotel Mediterraneo:

By Car: leave the A1 motorway at the "Firenze Sud" exit. Go straight until the end of the junction that runs over the river Arno, take a left at the traffic light and go straight for about 2 km. The Grand Hotel Mediterraneo will be on your right.

By train: from "Santa Maria Novella" railway station, you can walk to the hotel (25 minutes) or catch the No 14 bus (ticket: € 1,20 ) and get off at the Grand Hotel Mediterraneo stop in Via Arnolfo (behind the hotel). The Grand Hotel Mediterraneo is at about 150 metres.

By plane: Amerigo Vespucci Airport - Peretola, Florence. The Grand Hotel Mediterraneo is at about 10 km from the airport and can be reached in a few minutes with the shuttle that stops at the railway station (where you can take a bus or a taxi) or directly by taxi (price: about € 20-25 ).

Be sure to set aside time to see the vast and varied art collection housed in the Pitti Palace.

When you grow weary of museums and monuments, head outdoors. Wander some of the oldest streets in the city until you reach the Arno River, cross the Ponte Vecchio, and experience the "newest" area of Florence, the Oltrarno. Visit the Boboli Gardens or climb the hill to the church of San Miniato al Monte to experience an enchanting view of Florence.
